IPTV Finland: Finnish and Nordic TV, live sport and films online

IPTV Finland is television delivered over your broadband connection rather than through an aerial or a cable socket. IPTV Suomi brings live sport, Finnish and Nordic channels, films and complete series together in one subscription – on the smart TV in the living room, on your phone on the train and on the laptop in between. The same subscription comes with you across the Nordic countries.

This page is an English summary. The rest of the site, including every step-by-step setup guide, is in Finnish.

Why switch to IPTV in Finland

Cable television ties you to a socket in one flat and to whatever channel bundle the housing company chose years ago. IPTV Finland removes both limits: the picture arrives over the broadband you already pay for, and you pick the package yourself. There is no operator set-top box to rent and nothing to install in the wall.

The second reason is hardware. An IPTV Suomi subscription runs on equipment you most likely have already – a Samsung or LG smart TV, an Android TV box, an Apple TV, a Fire TV Stick, a phone, a tablet, a laptop or an Xbox. One account follows you from the living room to the kitchen and onto the train.

What you need to get started

Three things. A broadband connection with roughly 10 Mbit/s per HD stream, or about 25 Mbit/s for 4K – add the figures together if several people watch at once. A device with a working player app. And a subscription, which gives you the channel list and the address of the programme guide.

The quality of the connection matters more than the price of the hardware. An Ethernet cable is steadier than Wi-Fi, and the difference shows exactly when it matters: on weekday evenings between 8 and 11 pm, when the whole neighbourhood is streaming at once. If you cannot run a cable, use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and keep the number of walls between the router and the TV to a minimum.

IPTV Suomi packages and prices

Every package contains the same content – channels, live sport, series and films. The only difference is the length of the period: 1 month for €29, 6 months for €69, 12 months for €89 and 24 months for €149. Each package is a one-off payment and does not renew automatically. The longer the period, the less you pay per month – the 24-month package works out at €6.21 a month.

Sports broadcasts may include advertising, sponsorship messages and other commercial content, and picture and sound quality can vary with your device and connection.

One subscription, four Nordic countries

The service works in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark wherever you have an internet connection. If you split your time between Nordic countries for work or family, your home channels come with you without a separate contract in each country.

Individual channels and sports events may still vary from country to country, because broadcasting rights are sold country by country and for fixed periods. That applies to every service, not just IPTV – so check the rights for the leagues and series you follow most closely.

Setting up IPTV Suomi on your device

Setup usually takes less than ten minutes. Choose a package, install a player app that suits your device and enter the address or login details you receive. The channel list and programme guide load within a few minutes the first time; after that you mark your favourite channels and you are ready to watch.

Our step-by-step guides (in Finnish) cover smart TVs, the Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, computers and mobile devices, as well as player apps such as TiViMate and IPTV Smarters Pro. The full device list is on the supported devices page.

IPTV Finland – frequently asked questions

What is IPTV and how does it work in Finland?

IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television. Channels, films and live sport reach you over your internet connection rather than through an aerial or a cable socket. All you need is a broadband connection, a compatible device and a subscription – no set-top box from a cable operator.

How much does IPTV Suomi cost?

There are four packages, all with the same content: 1 month for €29, 6 months for €69, 12 months for €89 and 24 months for €149. Each package is a single payment for the whole period and does not renew automatically.

Which devices work with IPTV in the Nordics?

Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android TV and Google TV devices, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, phones, tablets, Windows and Mac computers, and Xbox consoles. Every device has its own step-by-step setup guide in our IPTV guides section.

How fast does my internet connection need to be?

About 10 Mbit/s for each HD stream and roughly 25 Mbit/s for 4K. If several people watch at the same time, add the figures together. A wired Ethernet connection is always steadier than Wi-Fi, especially between 8 and 11 pm.

How many devices can I use at the same time?

You can install the player app on several devices, but the number of people watching at the same time is limited.

Can I use the same subscription in other Nordic countries?

Yes. It works in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark wherever you have an internet connection. The availability of individual channels and sports events can still vary, because broadcasting rights differ from country to country.
